There is nothing is more satisfying for cosmetic patients than having an instant improvement in the volume of the face as a result of the injection of a dermal filler. Dermal Fillers, also known as injectable implants is a cosmetic treatment approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in helping to create a smoother and/or fuller appearance in the face, including nasolabial folds, cheeks and lips and for increasing the volume of the back of the hand.
As we age our skin loses its collagen and fat. These are naturally found in the human body and are the structural proteins and materials that help prevent your skin from sagging. As you age however, lines and wrinkles appear as your body loses these essential proteins. Thus, dermal fillers are needed to be injected gently into the dermal layers of your skin helping you to hide and firm out the lines and wrinkles on different parts of your body.
Most dermal fillers have a temporary effect because they contain materials that are absorbed by the body over time. The absorbable (temporary) materials used in dermal fillers include:
At Skin Hampshire, we only use leading and trusted brands that have a good safety profile and that are FDA approved. For example we use the dermal fillers Restylane®, Teosyal® and Emervel® for face and Ellanse® for hands. Whilst we quite frequently use Teosyal and Restaylane for deep lines, general facial lines, cheek and face enhancement as the results are more reliable and long lasting.
It is important to know that any kind of dermal filler can cause long-term side effects, permanent side effects, or both. However, most side effects associated with dermal fillers happen shortly after injection and most go away in less than two weeks. Swelling and pain after hand treatment may last a month or more. In some rare cases, side effects may appear weeks, months or years after injection.
We trust you will put your faith in Skin Hampshire when it comes to your skin as we realize every patient’s unique skin needs and give advice or administer any kind of treatment accordingly.
